Hello my name is Christina Haney and I am a DONA certified birth doula and certified Hypnobabies® childbirth educator serving Bloomington, Normal, Peoria and the surrounding central Illinois communities. I attended my DONA training in February 2010 and I am working towards certification. As a DONA certified doula I have the skills necessary to help any mom during her birthing time. I am also a certified Hypnobabies® instructor and certified Hypno-Doula. I will be offering Hypnobabies® classes in the central IL area. As a certified Hypno-Doula I have the special skills necessary to help any hypno-mom (this includes Hypnobabies, Hypnobirthing or any other childbirth hypnosis program) to best use her childbirth hypnosis skills for her birth.
I graduated from Bradley University in May 1994 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics. I am the mother of 4 beautiful children Samantha, Lillian, Isaiah and Elizabeth. I decided to start my journey to becoming a doula after the birth of my 3rd child left me looking for a better birth experience. I am active in the local chapter of ICAN.
No one person wants the same thing out of their birth experience and I am committed to helping mothers to have the best possible birth.

What is a doula?
The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.

Christina is a certified Hypnobabies® Childbirth Educator. The next class offerings will be in in April 2012. Doula clients will receive a discount on childbirth education.
